Unlike the birdcage awl, the Honey Brook Large Blade Scratch Awl is used for setting layout lines things such as brass, steel, or other materials where a marking knife would be unfeasible. The Honey Brook Large Blade Scratch Awl features the same handle I designed for the Honey Brook Birdcage Awl, designed to be both comfortable in hand and easy to control.
The Honey Brook Long Blade Scratch Awl features:
- A hand-turned handle from your choice of premium domestic or exotic hardwoods;
- A 4" hardened conical blade, an ideal choice for marking layout lines in brass and other metals often used in woodworking;
- A traditional finish which starts with Glancy's No. 1 oil (on all woods but maple) followed on with hand-mixed shellac and shop made beeswax finish.
After inspection, I hand-stamp each tool with my maker's mark prior to delivery. I stand behind every tool that leaves my shop with a simple unconditional guarantee. If you're not completely satisfied contact me for a replacement or full refund.
