When dimensioning stock for a project, winding sticks are an important tool to remove any twist from your wood.  The Honey Brook Winding Sticks are beautifully handmade for this purpose.

I make each set of Honey Brook Winding Sticks to the following specifications.

  1. Each pair of winding sticks is made from a premium quartersawn domestic or exotic wood of your choice.
  2. These winding sticks are 16" long, approximately 5/8" wide, and 2" tall.*(see below)
  3. I make these winding sticks with a tapered profile, tapering from approximately 5/8' at the base to approximately 5/16" at the top
  4. I cut and inlay the sighting inlays by hand.
  5. As with my other tools, the Honey Brook Winding Sticks receive hand-mixed shellac followed by Alfie Shine hard wax.

After inspection, I hand-stamp each set with my maker's mark prior to delivery. I stand behind every tool that leaves my shop, and each comes with a simple unconditional guarantee. If you're not completely satisfied, I will offer you a replacement or a full refund.

Finally

I have been waiting to buy a pair of these winding sticks for a long time. I have a set of metal ones and I have a set that I made myself. Nothing can compare to the beauty and craftsmanship of these winding sticks. They are actually a work of art. They were well worth the wait. Thank you. I am actually thinking about purchasing another set or maybe two.

Beautiful!

I bought a pair of mahogany and curly maple winding sticks, the quality of these are absolutely stunning. When I had questions prior to receiving these, Will was quick to respond and very helpful!

Beautiful Custom Built Cherry & Ebony Sticks!

Will was amazing in communicating with me when I asked him to build me a set from his curly cherry, but with ebony inlays (he didn’t offer that combination at the time in the drop downs). They arrived carefully packed, beautifully finished, and true as arrows. If you’re looking for a gift to inspire someone while also getting them into making, these winding sticks are just the inspiration someone needs and will be a cherished reminder of you in each generation that handles them. Likewise, Honey Brook Tools can fit you out with tools that invite you to work. I have both a set of Will’s sticks and set of his blacksmithed drivers and am completely satisfied with the craftsmanship, communication, and price. Wow!

Just received a set of the winding sticks in Yarran. Absolutely stunning! I have a thing for yarran, but the piece Honeybrook made it out of was even more beautiful than any example of yarran I have ever seen.
On top of the visual appeal, the sticks are dead straight/dead flat.
I’m a repeat offender now with Honeybrook tools, having (and loving) their marking gauges, awls and knives. I love getting tools made by real craftsmen in the United States.
