The Honey Brook "No. 197" Marking Gauge is my take on the Stanley No. 197, a vintage marking gauge that featured a circular cutter similar to those on my standard marking gauges. I'll be making these in batches from time to time and this is the first of those batches! I'm offering these in some beautiful domestic woods including some lovely fruitwoods and three stunning Australian woods in the Acacia family, Gidgee, Mulga, and Australian Blackwood.
The Honey Brook "No. 197" Marking Gauge features:
- An elliptical head measuring 1 7/8" tall and 2 1/2" wide
- Two 1/2" round brass inlays to protect the head from wear over time
- A 8" beam fitted with a circular cutter and brass screw. The cutter provides a clear and crisp line for all of your layout needs.
After inspection, I hand-stamp each marking gauge with my maker's mark prior to delivery. I stand behind every tool that leaves my shop and each comes with a simple unconditional guarantee. If you're not completely satisfied contact me for a replacement or a full refund.
The Honey Brook "No. 197" Marking Gauge is a tool that will last a lifetime and you'll be proud to pass it on to the next generation of artisans in your family!
